Language Interpreter - Work From Home (Video)
Position: Language Interpreter [Mandarin / Cantonese and English]
Period of Employment:
12 months Contract / Renewable
Working Hours:
Minimum 40 hours per week
24/7 shift. Peak working hours within 7pm -11am (8hr shift)
Salary:
RM 4,960.00 / RM 31.00 per hour (1st 2 months Voice Only)
RM 5,280.00 / RM 33.00 per hour (Video and Voice)

*Laptop and Tools will be loaned at a deposit (refundable) deductible from productive salary. No cash collection.

Training

Commitment:
4 weeks paid training RM 2,500.00

Interpreters must adhere to all training protocols that is set for this program with Language Line Solutions. Training attendance for classroom training is mandatory and will be held in office. Public holiday is not applicable during training period.
Work From Home:
A work from home Language Interpreter works from his/her home-office. It is essential to ensure a quiet and secure environment with a selected spot at home. Note pads and writing utensils, glossaries, and dictionaries are useful tools. The Language Interpreter must have a dedicated fibre internet broadband and other tools will be loaned by the company.
Major Responsibilities and Principal Accountabilities
-Renders correct concepts and meanings between Mandarin / Cantonese and English following complexity, clarity, tone, and style from one language into another, upholding the correct rules for grammar and syntax in both languages
-The calls may involve simple or complex, non-technical or technical subjects in Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, and General Business.
-Provides strict renditions of the messages including every detail of the conversation, and is prepared for challenging calls at any time
-Employs good customer service and communication skills, clear enunciation, pronunciation, pleasant and professional voice, as well as polite forms of expressions
-Follows instructions of clients, manages the flow of the call and avoid taking over the call, as well as avoids interaction with the limited English speaker person without the clients permission
-Understands interpreting protocol and terminology in the various fields of the clients
-Remains calm during calls in the event that one of the primary speakers is incoherent or upset, especially in emergency situations
-Remains punctual and available during scheduled work hours
-Ensures access to the Internet for work related electronic communication
-Native Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese and English
-Advanced skills in the cultural dynamics (cultural implication and idiomatic expression) of both Mandarin or Cantonese and English
-Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy
-Thorough knowledge of medical and other industry terminology; on-going study of glossaries and training materials including scripts provided by our clients
-Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and remain neutral and objective at all times
-Ability to follow clients instructions closely
-Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or at request of the client
